Beijing increases input in public social services

(BEIJING, October 16) -- The Beijing Hall of the Great Hall of the People was packed with 120 reporters on Monday who were covering the discussions on the 17th National Congress of the Communist Party of China (CPC).

"We know we've found the right place because there are five Fuwa at the entrance of the Beijing Hall," said a Phoenix TV reporter.

In addition, the Olympic licensed products bearing the Beijing Olympics emblem and promotional discs were awaiting the journalists.

According to the congress staff, the Olympic mascots are very hot for the media, and all Fuwa were sold out 20 minutes before the congress opened at 9:00 in the morning.

"The Olympic flavor reigns over the Beijing Hall as the delegates often mention the Olympics in their discussions," a journalist told of his impressions.

Some of the delegates also answered the press's questions on how Beijing will resolve the issues related to the residents' life and to the schooling of the children of migrant workers.
